In our experience, for organizations where end to end technology program management capability is internally available, they also reap immense benefit from knowledge of how to align and organize their program office in line with the nuances of the regulatory directive. SCS’s Program Management Practice helps our clients lay the right foundation for a program through assessing the needs of the Program’s Management Office and function in line with your organizational size & culture and by helping in sizing and defining the function’s structure.

In this phase SCS experts work with you to define the Project Office and determine your immediate concerns and long-term objectives. As appropriate, they start with an assessment of your current Program Management approach & capabilities, goals and objectives. Baselining against a Project Management Maturity Model identifies the baseline positioning of project management within the organization and aids in planning future tasks and activities. A series of meetings is held with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand current capabilities, challenges, issues, and goals.

Based upon the discussions, an assessment report is developed by our team which captures the current state and future vision along with an improvement plan recommending short-term initiatives and long-term solutions. After developing the top-level improvement plan, we assist you in determining the Project Office functions and staffing, identify stakeholders (to include key management, mentor programs, and pilot projects/workstreams), and prepare a communications strategy. This phase ends with the Project Office having the go-ahead to proceed with funding and with immediate staffing needs approved.
